c) College Counselling Centre
The College Counselling Centre is an integral part of our high school students’
educational journey as they transition to their tertiary education. Access to
information on careers and post high school possibilities, as well as guidance from
the school's counsellors enable students and parents to make informed decisions
about their future pathways. Students and parents are taught how to use effective
online tools that will enable them to easily explore courses, colleges and countries
around the globe as well as feel empowered to approach the college admissions
process with a sense of confidence.
In Classes 9 and 10, students gain an insight into the career exploration and college
admissions processes so that they understand how to best prepare for their journey
into their senior years of high school. Students are assigned to a specific counsellor
beginning Class 9 Students and parents are introduced to “Cialfo”, the online
platform that is used by all the stakeholders to ensure an effective applications
               process.
By utilising this online tool, students undertake assessments that help them find
out more about their areas of interests, and possible career pathways that may be
suited to their talents and skills. This will help them consider the subjects to be
chosen for the IB Diploma programme, as well as the majors they may wish to study
at university level. Additionally, a key component for selecting subjects for their
IBDP is done in conjunction with their individually assigned Counsellor.
In the IBDP years, students continue to use “Cialfo”, to further discover their skills
and career interests. Through research and the use of diverse resources, students
identify universities across the globe that form a part of their final applications list.
They can compare their standardised test scores and Grade Point Average (GPA)
with those of previous DAIS applicants by using the ‘Scattergrams’ tool on Cialfo.
Students are well supported for their competitive applications through targeted
workshops and frequent meetings with their individual counsellors. “Cialfo” helps
them keep the journey organised and by adhering to a specifically planned High
School College Counselling Calendar, the student can find the application process
               seamless.
The College Counselling Department will help senior students identify college
application requirements, scholarship possibilities, and update them on the latest
happenings at colleges around the globe. In addition, the students will be
thoroughly supported as they prepare, and submit, their individual applications.
Students across the grades, as well as their parents, will have access to college visits
and fairs conducted by universities from the USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Australia,
Singapore, Hong Kong, Europe and India and these serve as important
opportunities to interact with university representatives, enabling students to make
               informed application decisions.
To schedule individual counsellor meetings, please reach out directly to the
student’s Counsellor on Microsoft Teams, using the Scheduling Assistant tool to
find a mutually convenient time. Any queries can be directed to the email address :
