APP DEVELOPMENT AND CODING - At the App
CREATIVITY CLUBS
ASTROPHYSICS - We believe that astrophysics is not just
about equations and theories but about understanding our place in the vast
universe. Each post we publish is a reflection of our commitment to learning
and growing together as a community of curious minds. Whether it's black
holes, dark matter, exoplanets, or the expanding universe, we take the time
to break down complex theories and analyze the latest discoveries in the
field. Recently, we launched a blog where we share the insights, well-
researched explanations of scientific theories, discoveries, and ongoing
debates in the field of astrophysics.
CALLIGRAPHY - Over the course of a semester, we
learned how to write in a simple yet striking font, starting with the
basic letters, eventually writing in full sentences and paragraphs. We
realized many significant benefits like better hand control, attention
to detail and an improvement in handwriting. Beyond the physical
skill, practicing calligraphy had several hidden benefits such as
enhancing focus and patience, in addition to having a calming effect.
We got a sense of satisfaction and pride after writing entire
paragraphs with utmost precision and neatness.
PHOTOGRAPHY - Throughout the year, we held
workshops covering fundamental and advanced photography
techniques. Members learned about angles, the rule of thirds, lighting,
composition, and depth of field. We introduced advanced concepts like
leading lines, framing, and colour theory to refine their artistic vision. A
key activity involved photographing subjects around the school,
including landscapes, portraits, and candid event shots. This hands-on
experience boosted confidence and encouraged experimentation. We
also hosted a DSLR workshop, where members explored shutter speed,
aperture, and ISO, gaining valuable experience with professional
equipment and enhancing their technical skills.
ART AND ORIGAMI
Students have created various
artwork and origami models using
different papers, colours, and
techniques. They progressed from
simple folds to intricate designs.
Students also made wearable
origami accessories, such as hats.
Their enthusiasm extended to
collaborative projects, including a
vibrant mural representing hope.
By brainstorming, sketching, and painting together, they contributed to
the school’s visual appeal. Through dedication and teamwork, the club
members enhanced their artistic skills and discovered new possibilities in both art and origami.
Students also created a painted mural symbolizing hope.
MUN - The MUN Club has been a platform for students from
Grades 8 to 10 to engage with global issues while developing key skills
such as drafting resolutions, writing position papers, and
understanding the functions of various UN committees. Through
regular sessions and simulations, students gained deeper insight
into international diplomacy, including the role of veto power and the
complexities of global negotiations. Their participation in debates
also helped improve their public speaking, confidence, and critical
thinking abilities. Students took part in conferences like Spring MUN,
Sanskriti MUN , RIMUN, THIMUN Hague, THIMUN Singapore and
gained exposure to MUN formats like THIMUN and HMUN.

Development and Coding Club, we explore industry level concepts and
frameworks while developing an app which can be used by members of the
community. This year, we worked on a ride share app, facilitating easy
carpooling in the school. While absolutely no coding experience is required to
sign up for this club, a keen interest in software or app development is certainly
welcomed. In our sessions, we aim to foster collaborative work by discussing
any decisions thoroughly and engaging in a peer review process. We focus on
independent research and learning and follow a process where we collectively
decide when and what skills we wish to acquire. For instance, this term, after
careful consideration and deliberation, we decided to divide ourselves into two
groups: one for developing an Android application using Kotlin Compose in
Android Studio and the other for developing the iOS counterpart using SwiftUI
in Xcode. This made each team a more optimal size to achieve peak efficiency
while also ensuring that everyone was learning what they wanted to. At the
core of this system was an emphasis on inter-team collaboration and attention
to uniformity between both software, streamlining the experience.
DANCE - This year, the Dance Club has been a hub
of creativity and energy, bringing together individuals
united by their love for movement and performance.
Throughout our journey, we have explored dynamic styles
such as jazz-funk, Bollywood, and hip-hop, with each
choreography pushing our boundaries and helping us
grow as dancers. Our sessions have focused on honing
technical skills and creating meaningful performances. We
explored vibrant Bollywood beats like Tu Meri and Jai Jai
Shiv Shankar for our CAS Fete performance—a milestone,
as it marked the club's first-ever live stage showcase.
MUSIC - Throughout the year, students
have actively engaged in collaborative music-
making, refining performances through
structured rehearsals and peer feedback. For
instance, instrumentalists and vocalists worked
closely together to enhance the rhythmic and
harmonic quality of their pieces, ensuring well-
coordinated and expressive performances. Their
dedication and teamwork were further evident in
community performances and fundraisers like
the School fete, where they used music as a
means of service, promoting social causes and
fostering a sense of inclusivity.
PERSPECTIVES NEWSLETTER -
Perspectives is where students share the thoughts and
opinions they usually keep to themselves. This year, we
worked on two notable issues; Masquerade - Masks of
the World and Pop Culture, each showcasing the
phenomenal creativity of our school. From parodies of
Coldplay’s Yellow to sharp commentaries on chick flicks,
we saw the breadth of student talent. In Masquerade, we
explored the truths people hide behind illusions; in Pop
Culture, we were amazed by the boundary-pushing
artwork and design. Perspectives has become a creative
space where students grow as writers, artists, and
thinkers. As editors, we have cherished every submission
and found joy in shaping each unique page.
