WORKSHOPS FOR DAIS AND NMAJS TEACHERS
EMPOWERING TEACHERS Throughout the year, our Heads, Coordinators and Learning Coaches facilitated a range of in-house workshops
around 'creating an effective school', 'pastoral framework and well being policy', 'designing engaging learning
experiences and assessments' among many others. These sessions supported teachers in aligning with best
practices, reflecting on their own approaches, and building expertise and shared understanding across grade levels.
DOCUMENTING LEARNING This collaborative learning culture continues to strengthen our programs and empower our educators.
WITH MR. JOSHUA BLUE
Joshua Blue’s two-day professional development
workshop centred around documenting learning stories
and honouring children’s theories within the context of
assessment. Joshua challenged us to rethink how we
see and represent children’s thinking, emphasising that
assessment is about uncovering meaning rather than
checking boxes. Through reflective dialogue, we
explored the power of learning stories to celebrate the
child as capable, imaginative, and insightful. His sessions
inspired us to approach documentation with greater
intention and authenticity.
SCIENCE OF READING
WITH MS. DALBIR KAUR
Dalbir Kaur led an engaging and informative session
on the Science of Reading, guiding educators through
evidence-based practices that support comprehension
and fluency. Her sessions focused on building strong,
intentional reading routines that not only develop
foundational skills but also nurture a genuine joy for
reading. In addition to working with classroom
educators, Dalbir collaborated closely with our
librarians to explore ways to build reading identities
and create environments that are truly conducive to
joyful, self-directed reading.
DIFFERENTIATION IN ACTION
WITH MS. TANYA LATZANIO
Supporting diverse learners remains a key priority, and
Ms. Tanya Latzanio’s workshop on differentiation
offered practical and responsive strategies to meet the
needs of all students. Through real-world scenarios and
hands-on tasks, teachers explored ways to plan flexible
learning experiences that support student voice,
choice, and readiness. Tanya’s engaging facilitation
helped educators walk away with new tools to create
inclusive, student-centered classrooms.
