THIMUN Hague 2026 Conference Report

The 58th Annual THIMUN Hague Conference (24–31 January 2026) brought together 20 Grade 11 students for a truly enriching academic and cultural experience. Beyond the conference, delegates explored iconic Dutch landmarks such as Scheveningen Beach, Delft, and Madurodam, gaining insights into the country’s culture and heritage in line with the conference theme, “Embracing Diversity: Culture and Heritage.” These excursions allowed students to experience Dutch history and society firsthand, deepening their understanding of the global perspectives they discussed in committee.

 

 

During the four-day Model United Nations conference, a major highlight of the conference was the selection of Anoushka Tandon as Secretary-General at the conference which gave her the opportunity to showcase remarkable leadership on a global stage. The delegation actively engaged in debates, lobbying, and drafting resolutions. Student Officers Apoorv Gupta, President of the Security Council, and Somya Jain, Editor-in-Chief of the Press Team, displayed exemplary leadership, guiding their committees and teams to produce insightful research and engaging conference content.

 

 

Delegates across committees participated in thoughtful discussions on pressing global issues, delivering confident speeches, negotiating effectively, and successfully passing resolutions. The week was marked by collaboration, critical thinking, and an eagerness to understand diverse viewpoints.

 

 

 

The conference concluded with reflective speeches by Anoushka Tandon and Somya Jain, while Ambassadors Meha Sanghvi and Kaira Desai represented the delegation in the flag ceremony, marking a fitting end to a week of diplomacy, leadership, and global collaboration. The trip not only strengthened students’ MUN skills but also left them with lasting memories of cultural exchange, teamwork, and personal growth.
