Spanish/ French Club

Spanish/ French Club

In 2013, the Spanish and French Departments introduced the Spanish/French Culture Club, as a co-curricular, every Tuesday afternoon. This Club offers a variety of activities including preparation of Gazpacho – cookery session, a salsa class, karaoke, exposure to Spanish and French Art, celebration of festivals, preparing of local cuisines and dress; as well as some interactive activities practicing basic vocabulary and phrases. The students are shown some well-known Spanish/French language films, which increases their understanding of the Hispanic world. This is then followed by a discussion of these films. This club is intended as a taster of Hispanic Culture, rather than a language class. The club is an excellent preparatory ground for taking up the language for future academic pursuit. The club has proved to be very popular amongst students of grades 8 to10.
