Class 5A and 5B field trip to Mani Bhavan
15th January 2016

Arushi Maheshwari

As a part of our lesson in history, “The Indian Freedom Struggle”, the students of class 5A and 5B went on a field trip to Mani Bhavan. We had an eye- opening experience and learnt a lot about our great leader Mahatma Gandhi also known as ‘The Father of the Nation ‘ and his contribution to the Indian freedom struggle. The place was very well maintained and it almost felt like we were transported to the pre-independence era. We saw the actual “charkha” that Gandhiji had used and also his wooden shoes. We were very inspired that such a simple man had done such great deeds. We saw many pictures and artifacts from Gandiji’s early years. We also saw many models depicting the incidents in Gandhiji’s life and these models showcased the events of his life very well. We were very grateful that we could see and learn so much about Gandhiji and we will never forget the memorable time we had! It was a great learning experience and made his feel very proud.
