Table Tennis Champ Mudit Dani

15 year old Mudit Dani has done his family, our school and the city of Mumbai proud by being the first Table Tennis player from Mumbai to win a Gold Medal in the Cadet Boys Individual Event at an International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Junior Circuit Event held at El Salvador.

Mudit played back to back in two International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Junior Circuit Events, held at Guatemala (6-9 August) and (12-15 August).

At Guatemala in Cadet and Junior he won:
1 Gold in the Cadet team Event.
3 Bronze: 2 in Cadet – Individuals and Doubles and 1 in Junior – Individuals.

At El Salvador in Cadet he won:
1 Gold in the Cadet Individual Event. Beat two Swedes Oskar Danielson (Quarter Final) and Filip Karlsson (Semi Final) and Jaime Galeano of El Salvador in the Final.
1 Bronze in the Cadet team Event.

His coach Kamlesh Mehta (Arjuna award winner) said, “It’s a proud moment for Mumbai and India . This heartwarming performance by a Mumbai lad will encourage more players to follow suit.”

In his words, “It couldn’t get better than winning my first gold medal for India on India’s 68th Independence Day,” said Mudit.
