Somya Jain of IBDP Grade 11 Wins Bronze in QCEC 2025

Somya Jain of IBDP Grade 11 has been awarded a Bronze Medal in the prestigious Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC) 2025.

The QCEC, conducted by the Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883, is the world’s oldest international writing competition for schools, attracting over 53,434 entries from 56 Commonwealth countries this year.

Somya’s chosen topic — “From tiny seeds to large redwoods, trees and plants experience changes and growth throughout their life cycles. Write a story about the life journey of a plant growing in the centre of your community; what does it experience?” — beautifully reflected her creativity, sensitivity, and global perspective.
