Round Square Conference Jaipur
Maharani Gayatri Devi School

Six students of the eight grade of Dhirubhai Ambani international School namely Adyant Deshpande, Advaith Bala, Vani Dado, Jayani Mehta, Ishika Srivastava and Shaivi Shah, escorted by their teacher Miss Kamal Kaur visited the Maharani Gayatri Devi School, Jaipur for the Senior Regional Round Square Conference, 2015.

On the first day, at around 12 o’clock we were welcomed with open arms at the Maharani Gayatri Devi School where we registered our school. In the evening we had the inauguration ceremony where each school spoke about the selected ideals ‘Environment and Adventure’. Miss Suniti Sharma greeted and declared the conference open. Following the lovely opening ceremony we had our first Barazza session, where each Barazza namely Phoenix, Millingtonia , Ficus , Ziziphus and more five Barazza group members interacted with each other and decided their respective slogans followed by the much needed dinner.

On the second day we took our rucksacks and left for our galvanizing trip to the Sariska National Park. We had an amusing bus ride for three long hours. Three hours also seemed too short because we got to know all delegates due to the ice breaking games we played in the bus. We reached the Sariska Palace Hotel at 12:30pm. After lunch, we freshened up and began with our GLOBE activities in our respective Barazza groups. We conducted science and geography experiments in Sariska which were going be sent to the GLOBE headquarters and then NASA. Later, we played games like Treasure Hunt, Find the Flag and Food chain amongst the different Barazza teams. After the game session we had short but spellbinding presentation made by the students of Maharani Gayatri Devi School about ‘ Aravalli ri shaan Khejri’ proceeded by a short captivating film named ‘ Tiger Dynasty ‘ made by Mr. Subbiah Nallamuthu and his production team. The film potrayed the beautiful story of the young Bengal tigress – Baghani who was relocated to Sariska from Ranthambore. The Question and Answer session with him was also very knowledge-giving and motivating! Then came the most awaited part of the day – the bonfire!

The last day at Sariska was very hectic indeed! Our day began off early at 6am for the tiger safari in Sariska National Park. It was a three hour long safari in search of one of the fourteen Bengal tigers and the other numerous wild animals of Sariska. After the expedition we had two engrossing presentations, one by the Sariska Government officials which said about the work and effort put in by the government for the redevelopment of Sariska and the other by Mr. Harsh Vardhan about the specialities of Khejri. Later we had a discussion and poster making activity in our Barazza groups in the afternoon. Trekking on the rocks and muddy grass was a wonderful experience. After our terrific trekking activity, we had a short presentation made by each Barazza group on our experience in Sariska followed by the delightful dinner and bonfire.

On the morning of the last day of our splendid trip, we packed our luggage and returned to Maharani Gayatri Devi School, cherishing all the marvellous moments we experienced. After some mind refreshing activities during the afternoon all the Barazza groups presented their artefacts followed by each school’s incredible cultural performance. Then came the most heart-melting moment : the goodbyes. We left for Mumbai with memories of every joyous moment we spent at the Senior Round Square Conference in Jaipur.
