Pujita Mohta of IBDP Year 12 for achieving outstanding international recognition across two highly competitive global platforms.
- Gold Award — Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2025
- Academic Distinction Award — Immerse Education Essay Competition
Pujita has been awarded the Gold Award, the highest honour at the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC) 2025 — the world’s oldest international writing competition.
This year marked a historic milestone with 53,434 entries from across 56 Commonwealth nations.
Her award-winning essay, titled “Not All Magic Is in Wands,” responded to the prompt inspired by Her Majesty Queen Camilla:
“Human beings have always needed the connection of literature – its wisdom as well as its sheer escapism. Books can take us on journeys to the wildest and most unexpected places! Write about a time a book took you on a journey; how did it affect you?”
In addition to her QCEC achievement, Pujita also received the Academic Distinction Award in the Immerse Education Essay Competition, placing her essay among the top international submissions.
Her essay, titled “How do rehabilitation programmes help prevent former prisoners from committing more crimes?”, earned her both international recognition and a £500 scholarship towards an Immerse in-person programme.
