Joining Mumbai Indians Education For All Initiative - “Donate a Book, Educate a Child” campaign during IPL Season 6

Our school actively participated in the Mumbai Indians “Donate a Book, Educate a Child” campaign during IPL Season 6, as part of its “Education For All” initiative. This book collection drive was launched with the intention of reaching good quality educational and story books to deserving children. Recent studies undertaken in the country have reported the declining levels of reading ability among school going children in certain areas. Access to good quality text books, story books and tales are very poor and contribute in part to this. This project involved an extensive book donation drive when children finish their annual exams and covered over 60 schools.

Our students collected and donated about 4000 books for this exemplary project, which have been eventually distributed through MI’s partner NGO’s to schools and libraries that will hugely benefit from them. MI’s “Education For All” initiative is committed to support and improve the quality of education that underprivileged children including those who are differently abled. It has already impacted the education of over 15,000 boys and girls.
