Kavya Mangal of ICSE Class 10 A won Gold Award at QCEC' 25
Kavya Mangal of DAIS ICSE Class 10A has been awarded the prestigious Gold Award in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC) 2025, the world’s oldest international writing competition. This year’s edition received a record 53,434 entries from 56 Commonwealth countries, making her achievement truly remarkable.

Kavya’s winning piece, Small Silent Strong, responded to the prompt:
“From tiny seeds to large redwoods, trees and plants experience changes and growth throughout their life cycles. Write a story about the life journey of a plant growing in the centre of your community; what does it experience?”

Her story stood out for its depth, creativity, emotional resonance, and its ability to personify the natural world in a meaningful and thought-provoking way.
