Hridank Goradia Earns Top Honours at RSI-India 2025

IBDP Grade 11 student Hridank Goradia took part in the inaugural edition of the Research Science Initiative – India (RSI-India), a prestigious, merit-based program hosted at IISc Bengaluru. Designed to nurture some of the country’s most promising young scientists, the six-week programme brings together top high school talent from across India.

Under the guidance of Prof. Tanweer Hussain (Department of Developmental Biology and Genetics), Hridank undertook pioneering research into how overexpressing translation initiation factors can improve E. coli growth under extreme stress—a project with significant implications in synthetic biology and biotechnology.

His paper, “Investigating the Effect of Prokaryotic Translation Initiation Factor Overexpression on E. coli Growth Under Stress Conditions,” earned the Best Biology Paper Award and was ranked among the Top 10 Oral Presentations across all scientific disciplines at RSI-India.
