Gold at QCEC 2025 and UKMT: A Dual Triumph for Krishiv Bhatia of IBDP Y12
Krishiv Bhatia of IBDP Year 12 has achieved an exceptional dual accomplishment, showcasing excellence in both literary and mathematical domains.
He has won the Gold Award at the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition (QCEC) 2025, the world’s oldest and most prestigious international schools’ writing competition. This year saw a record-breaking 53,434 entries from across the 55 Commonwealth nations, making his achievement truly outstanding. Krishiv’s essay stood out for its depth, creativity, and powerful engagement with global themes, placing him among the top young writers internationally.
In addition to this remarkable literary honour, Krishiv has also demonstrated extraordinary mathematical prowess. He earned a Gold Medal in the UKMT – UK Senior Mathematical Challenge with an exceptional score of 117/125. His high score has qualified him for the British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) Round 1, one of the most rigorous and selective problem-solving contests for pre-university students worldwide.
