Divina Minocha wins first place in YEA

Divina Minocha of Grade 8B won the YEA competition securing the first place with her business venture "Gyanaika".

She gave a 3 minute pitch to 3 investors, including Ms. Namita Thapar, a judge on Shark Tank India. Out of 15 other people participating from many different schools in Mumbai, she bagged the first prize.

Her business venture, Gyanaika, is a solution to the issue of young girls being unaware of what they are going through the first time they experience their period. It is focused on creating a positive, safe and comfortable environment for young girls the first time they get their period, through delivering them a box each month with different elements (sanitary napkins, heating pouches, chocolates, etc.) including a "menstrual manual" which tells girls how to be healthy and how to take care of themselves while on their period. Moreover, it also provides an advice sheet for parents that paves a way for open communication about periods among families.

She hopes to inspire young girls and women through her venture.
