DAIS 15th IB Sports Fest 2017 - 2018


9 boys’ teams and 7 girls’ teams from IB schools of Mumbai participated in the DAIS 15th IB Sports Fest from March 5 to 13, 2018. The schools are: Hiranandani Foundation School, Cathedral and John Connon School, American School of Bombay, Bombay International School, N.S.S. Hill Spring, Aditya Birla World Academy, Jamnabai Narsee International School, Oberoi International School and Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

 

Approximately 375 (150 girls and 225 boys) sportspersons were part of the IB Fest 2018. Students below 19 years are permitted to participate in 5 sports: Football, Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis.

 

Our IB Football tournament is one of the selection trials for choosing the Girls All India IB (International Schools) Football Team for School Games Federation of India.

 

This is the 15th consecutive year the IB Fest has been conducted by Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

15th IB Sports Fest 2018 Football Semi final results 12th March, 2018


The Football semi-finals were held on Monday, March 12. The Cathedral Boys' team reached the finals beating a strong Bombay International School 1 - 0. DAIS roared into the finals without losing a single match. They had beaten Cathedral 1 - 0 during the league.

 

In the finals, DAIS but missed winning the title, coming in second..

 

Hill Spring Girls' team came to the finals beating Bombay International School 1 - 0.

 

DAIS girls team easily made it to the finals, without losing a single match, beating Hiranandani Foundation School 2 - 0. DAIS won the match with a score of 4 - 3.

The medals were awarded by Mr. Gaurav Dixit, Director Marketing and Public Relations, School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
