Visit to St. Catherines of Siena Home

This year we, the students of 4 A went to St. Catherine’s Orphanage (Bandra) for our annual Social Service Visit. We truly had a lot of fun wth the chidren. We mingled with them and found them to be kind-hearted, hardworking and talented. When we reached there, we were briefed on by Brother Joseph, who works and takes care of the children at the Home. We then took a tour around the orphanage and saw where they studied, ate and played. Later, we went to their small auditorium, made friendship bands with them, danced and sang for them. We were satisfied when we saw the smiles and laughter on their faces, as all of it was because of ‘us’. They portrayed their talents with their impromptu dance moves and gymnastics. We truly hope these children become successful when they grow up

Personal Note:
This visit made me realise that we are all very lucky to have so many facilities, such as a good school, good homes, lovely friends, as part of our lives. Above all, we receive selfless love from our parents. When I came home, I told my parents about a friend who I met at the orphanage, a little boy named Sagar. He was enthusiastic, loving and great at singing. I struck a great bond with him. I wanted to bring him home. My parents told me that it was not possible, but they promised to let me visit Sagar on my birthday. Sometimes, we realise about the blessings of God, when we see those who are not as fortunate. Thank you God, for all the little blessings in my life. We are grateful to our school and our teachers for giving us the opportunity to spread joy by mingling with these children, who are truly God’s own children.
