DAIS IB Sports Fest 2019-2020



The Dhirubhai Ambani International School IB Sports Fest kicked off on the morning of Monday, March 2nd, 2020.

 

This year there are 8 teams participating in the Boys under 19 age group category.

 

They are Hill Spring International School, Bombay International School, Oberoi International School, Jamnabhai Narsee International School, American School of Bombay, Aditya Birla World Academy, B.D. Somani International School and the host Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

 

We have 6 teams participating in the Girls under 19 age group category.

 

They are Hill Spring International School, Bombay International School, Oberoi International School, Jamnabhai Narsee International School, B.D. Somani International School and the host Dhirubhai Ambani International School.

 

Day 1:

 

The fest opened with three exhilarating football matches.

 

 

The first match between the boys of Oberoi International School and Dhirubhai Ambani International School was intense, but the DAIS team emerged victorious with a score of 2-1.

 

The second match was played between the girls of Hill Spring International School and Oberoi International School and a powerful fight by both teams resulted in a draw, with the score of 0-0.

 

 

The final match for the session between the boys of Hill Spring International School and Bombay International School was fierce, with the Hill Spring International School team winning with a score of 2-0. These matches were the perfect way to start off this event and showcased the enthusiasm that will certainly carry through the tournament.

 

In the evening session there were 2 matches.

 

 

In the match between American School of Bombay and Aditya Birla World Academy, both teams displayed fabulous technique and skill. The final score was 4-2 in ASB’s favor.

 

In another match, B D Somani beat Jamnabai Narsee School with a score of 3-0. Both teams displayed excellent skill and practise along with great coordination and team work.

 

 

Day 2:

 

Morning:
MATCH 1 – Boys

 

American School of Bombay vs. B. D. Somani International School 2)

 

The match kicked off at 6:45 a.m. B. D. Somani International School Boys emerged victorious by 2 goals.

 

 

 

MATCH 2 - Girls

 

B. D. Somani International School vs. Dhirubhai Ambani International School

 

Dhirubhai Ambani International School girls dominated the match D. Somani but could win by only one goal shot by center forward Jia Dixit.

 

 

MATCH 3 - Boys

 

NSS Hill Spring vs. Dhirubhai Ambani International School

 

NSS Hill Spring equalized with a superb goal.

 

 

Afternoon:

 

MATCH 1 Boys

 

NSS Hill Spring 1 vs. Oberoi International School

 

 

Despite the heat at 4pm, the teams played hard with both teams defending skilfully, leaving the game tied at nil all at half time. In the second half, however, Hill Spring emerged victorious after a superb goal.

 

MATCH 2 Boys

 

Jamnabai Narsee International School vs. Aditya Birla World School

 

 

Jamnabai seemed to dominate the match, scoring 3 goals within the first 5 minutes. The team from Aditya Birla fought in vain, but ultimately lost with a score of 6-nil.
